Ταινίες στο Φιλοπάππου
Το Pugnant Film Series θα προβάλει σε μια σπάνια προβολή το Flaming Horse (chapters I & IV) της Μαρίνας Φραγκιουδάκη, αλλά και σχεδόν 20 χρόνια μετά τη δημιουργία του, το "Τι κολυμπάει και γελάει;" της Εμμανουέλας Φραγκιαδάκη. Ενώ τέλος το The Lie of the Land των Jacqueline Heeley & Philippe Faujas, μια ταινία που θα προβληθεί πρώτη φορά στην Ελλάδα, κλείνει το πρώτο μέρος των προβολών (53').
Στη συνέχεια θα δούμε την Φαουέγια της Μύρνας Τσάπα. Το πορτραίτο μιας γυναίκας, της Φαουέγια, που ζει τόσο κοντά και τόσο μακρυά μας.
Τέλος, στη μνήμη του Piero Heliczer, στη μνήμη του κινηματογραφιστή, ποιητή, ηθοποιού και εκδότη Piero, που έφυγε πριν περίπου 30 χρόνια όντας 56 ετών, θα δούμε τις μικρού μήκους ταινίες Dirt και Autumn Feast. Ο Piero Heliczer, εκτός από μπίτνκικ ήταν και το απόλυτο παράδειγμα του underground καλλιτέχνη, ονόματα όπως αυτά των Jack Smith, Andy Warhol, Agnus MacLise και Gregory Corso αποτέλεσαν μερικούς απ' τους εν ζωή και εν πνεύμα αδερφούς του.
Η προβολή θα γίνει παρουσία σκηνοθετών.

Στην αρχή νομίζαμε ότι είχαν παραπλανηθεί, ότι είχαν τραβήξει τη λάθος οδοντογλυφίδα, κι ότι σύντομα θα συνειδητοποιούσαν το λάθος τους, αλλά καθώς περνούσε η ώρα ήμασταν εμείς που καταλάβαμε πως κάτι άλλο, κάτι πολύ πιο τρομερό είχε συμβεί.

Το Φλεγόμενο Άλογο είναι ένα έργο που δημιουργήθηκε το 2021-2022, ανεπτυγμένο σε μορφή μίας ταινίας τεσσάρων κεφαλαίων και ενός φωτογραφικού βιβλίου. Είναι ένα αυτοβιογραφικό έργο που αποτελείται από προσωπικές αρχειακές καταγραφές οι οποίες χρησιμοποιούνται ως λυρικές αντανακλάσεις, ενσωματωμένες σε μια συλλογή εικόνων οι οποίες αποσκοπούν να περιγράψουν μια φθίνουσα κατάσταση της ζωής, στην οποία τυχαίνει να βρίσκουμε απύθμενη λαχτάρα για φροντίδα και ζεστασιά, σε μία προσπάθεια εξοικείωσης με καταρρεύσεις ψυχής και υγείας της πολύτιμης οικογένειά. Αυτό το έργο λειτουργεί ως μια ακατέργαστη και πιθανόν θεραπευτική επανέκθεση του εαυτού, δημιουργού και θεατή, σε προσωπικές, ευαίσθητες και διαμορφωτικές στιγμές, φτιαγμένες ως διαδικασία “θεραπείας”, ανάλυσης και έρευνας, ενώ παράλληλα γίνονται χρώματα, σχήματα, τόνοι και υφές. Αυτό το ακατέργαστο αμήχανο και ποιητικό υλικό, ελπίζει να γίνει ένας νέος χώρος “θέασης” μέσα σε μία ανοιχτά μοιρασμένη εσωστρέφεια ως καλλιτεχνική μέθοδος, σε μία προσπάθεια να αναπροσδιοριστεί η αποστασιωποιημένη και αποστειρωμένη σχέση πομπού και δέκτη, αλλά προτείνοντας και εξερευνώντας μια εμπειρική αντιμετώπιση και συνάντηση.

Η Μάγδα και η Γεωργία είναι φίλες χρόνια τώρα. Ένα απρόβλεπτο γεγονός όμως έγινε η αιτία να αλλάξει η καθημερινή τους διαδρομή προς τα λουτρά, η συγκεκριμένη ημέρα τους πήρε άλλη τροπή, ίσως και οι επόμενες…

Μέρος τρίρο, ένα μικρό αφιέρωμα στον Piero Heliczer
The Autumn Feast, (Piero Heliczer), Αγγλία, 1961, 14'
Μια εσκεμμένα μη συγχρονισμένη ταινία, γυρισμένη σε 8mm. Ο Piero Heliczer διαβάζει το ποίημα του "Η γιορτή του Φθινοπώρου" και τα γραφικά αλληλεπιδρούν χωρίς να αναπαριστούν αυτό που διαβάζεται.
Δύο καλόγριες κάνουν μπάνιο και μετά συναντούν έναν ναύτη στο πλοίο του Staten Island.
Films at Filopappou
Pugnant Film Series will screen in a rare screening the film Flaming Horse (chapters I & IV) by Marina Fragkioudaki, and also almost 20 years later from it's first screening, the film "Τι κολυμπάει και γελάει;" by Emmanouela Fragkiadaki. Finally, the film The Lie of the Land by Jacqueline Heeley & Philippe Faujas, in greek premiere, will close the first part of the screenings (53').
Afterwards we will se Faoueyia by Myrna Tsapa. A film portrait of Faoueyia, a woman who live so close and so distant to us.
In the last part, in the memory of Piero Heliczer, filmaker, poet, actor and publisher, who commits suicide at age of 56, almost 30 years ago, we will see his short films Dirt and Autumn Feast. Piero Heliczer, was member of the beat generation and also an absolute underground artist, he was brother, mentally and on life, with persons as Jack Smith, Andy Warhol, Agnus MacLise ang Gregory Corso.
The screening will be with presence of filmmakers.

At first we thought they were misinformed, that they had gotten the wrong end of the stick and would soon realise that they had made a mistake but as time passed by it was us who realized something else, something far more sinister was happening.
The Flaming Horse is an image-based project created during 2021-2022, developed in the form of a four-chapter film, and a photo-book. It is an autobiographical project consisted of personal archival documentations employed as lyrical reflections embodied in a collection of images that are meant to describe a descending state of my life in which I happen to find myself within an abysmal crave for care and warmth, while trying to familiarise with the health and mental downfalls inside my precious family. This project functions as a raw and hopefully therapeutic re-exposure of the self, the creator’s and the viewer’s, to intimate, sensitive and identity-formative moments, formed as a process of treatment, analysis and research, while becoming colours,shapes, tones and textures. This raw yet poetic material hopes to become a new space of relation to the viewer within the openly shared introversion of the creator, in an effort to redefine the distanced and sterile relationship of the creator and the receiver, thus proposing and exploring an empirical approach and encounter.

A deliberately non-synchronous film, shot in 8mm with the sound on tape. Piero Heliczer reads his poem "The Autumn Feast," and the visuals interact with, but does not literally represent, what is read.
