Αυτή την Κυριακή το Pugnant Film Series πάει στο ανανεωμένο Secret Club στη Δάφνη (Δήλου 2). Όπως και την προηγούμενη φορά, η βραδιά μας φιλοδοξεί να είναι άναρχη και χαοτική! Μαζί μας θα είναι ο Stuart Swezey, ο άνθρωπος που στις αρχές του 80 οργάνωσε μια σειρά από συναυλίες σε ερημικές περιοχές του Los Angeles της California. Σε αυτές παίξαν μνημειώδεις μπάντες της πανκ και "αλλόκοτης" σκηνής, όπως Sonic Youth, Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Redd Kross, Einstürzende Neubauten, Survival Research Laboratories, Savage Republic, Swans. Live που έφεραν εκατοντάδες ανθρώπους στην έρημο και ενέπνευσαν πολλά μεταγενέστερα φεστιβάλ. Το 2018, ο Stuart έφτιαξε το Desolation Center, μια ταινία που καταγράφει όσα πρωτοφανή συνέβησαν, πίσω στα 80's. Αυτή την ταινία θα δούμε στις 21.15.
Ενώ νωρίτερα, στις 20.00 θα σας αποκαλύψουμε όσα κάναμε τον προηγούμενο μήνα. Τον προηγούμενο μήνα, με πρωτοβουλία του Pugnant Film Series, 26 άνθρωποι, σε 4 διαφορετικές ομάδες ανέλαβαν μια επίπονη ποιητική εργασία. Μπήκαμε σε εγκαταλελειμμένους χώρους, όπου λιμνάζουν εγκαταλελειμμένα φιλμ, και με αυτά τα φιλμ, μέσα στους ίδιους τους χώρους, με τεχνικές ζωγραφικής, scratching, emulsion, κι άλλες χειροποίητες ορμές, φτιάξαμε μια σύντομη ταινία 16mm! Ακόμα φτιάξαμε πολλά αποκόμματα ταινιών 35mm! Αυτή η εργασία θα φανερωθεί με αδόκιμους τρόπους, διάφορετικούς προτζέκτορ και performative διάθεση, από ομάδα ατόμων που εργάστηκε στο φιλμ. Ταυτόχρονα τα Bad Sadwich θα παίζουν post punk freak melancholy ήχους!

Τις τελευταίες 4 βδομάδες, 4 διαφορετικές ομάδες ανθρώπων, εισήλθαν σε 4 διαφορετικούς χώρους, και εργάστηκαν με φιλμ που ήταν παρατημένα εκεί για δεκαετίες. Μετέφεραν κομμάτια τους σε ένα νέο φιλμ 16mm, το οποίο έβαψαν και έξυσαν. Επίσης επενέβησαν με διαφορετικούς τρόπους στα φιλμ που βρέθηκαν εκεί. Το αποτέλεσμα ήταν μια σύντομη ενιαία ταινία 16mm, που ενοποιεί τα σκόρπια φιλμ, αλλά και τους χώρους. Όπως και αποκόμματα φιλμ, με τη μορφή καρέ ή τμημάτων, που παράχθηκαν από τα ευρεθέντα φιλμ. Εδώ θα παρουσιαστούν όλα αυτά, με δόκιμους και αδόκιμους τρόπους, σε μια τύπου expanded cinema live εγκατάσταση. Με την μουσική των Bad Sadwich.
Οι Bad Sadwich είναι μια μπάντα που φιλοδοξεί να ψυχαγωγεί σε γάμους και κρουαζιερόπλοια, σήμερα παίζει μουσική σε σκάφη, μικρά σκάφη και μεγάλα σκάφη, επίσης περιστασιακά σε μεσαία σκάφη.

Το Desolation Center ήταν μια ανεξάρτητη κίνηση οργάνωσης μουσικών και παραστατικών τεχνών στο Λος Άντζελες και τα περίχωρά του, στην Καλιφόρνια, στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 1980. This Sunday, the Pugnant Film Series moves to the new version of Secret Club in Dafni (2 Dilou Street). As before, our evening aims to be anarchic and chaotic!
Joining us will be Stuart Swezey, the person who in the early 1980s organized a series of concerts in remote desert areas of Los Angeles, California. Legendary punk and “out-there” scene bands performed at these events, such as Sonic Youth, Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Redd Kross, Einstürzende Neubauten, Survival Research Laboratories, Savage Republic, and Swans. These shows brought hundreds of people into the desert and inspired many later festivals. In 2018, Stuart created Desolation Center, a film documenting these unprecedented events from the 1980s. We will screen this film at 21:15.
Earlier, at 20:00, we will reveal what we worked on over the past month. Last month, on the initiative of the Pugnant Film Series, 26 people in four different groups undertook a demanding poetic task. We entered abandoned spaces where neglected film reels lie stagnant, and using those films—inside those very spaces—with techniques of painting, scratching, emulsion lift work, and other handmade impulses, we created a short 16mm film! We also produced many 35mm film frames! This work will be revealed in unconventional ways, using different projectors and a performative approach, by the group that worked on the film. At the same time, Bad Sadwich will perform post-punk freak melancholic sounds!

16mm - 35mm τα εγκαταλελειμμένα φιλμ, η φανέρωση~ Live music Bad Sadwich
Over the past four weeks, four different groups of people entered four separate spaces and worked with film reels that had been abandoned there for decades. They transferred fragments of these films onto a new 16mm film, which they painted and scratched. They also intervened in various ways on the films found on site.
The result is a short, unified 16mm film that brings together both the scattered film materials and the spaces themselves. In addition, film fragments—produced from the found materials in the form of frames or segments—were created.
Here, all of this will be presented through both conventional and unconventional means, as a kind of expanded cinema live installation. With live music by Bad Sadwich.
Bad Sadwich is an aspiring wedding band and cruise ship entertainment system, currently playing music on boats, small boats and big boats, occasionally medium boats.
