23/7 Ταινίες στον Κορυδαλλό
Αυτή την Κυριακή στις 23/7, το Pugnant Film Series θα βρεθεί για μία μοναδική βραδυά στα εγκαταλελειμμένα λατομεία του Σχιστού στον Κορυδαλλό. Το τοπίο, όπως συνήθως σε λατομεία, είναι πολύ ιδιαίτερο. Η βραδιά θα ξεκινήσει στις 20.00 με τους Blip να κάνουν μια in situ ηχητική δράση, εκμαιεύοντας τον ήχο από κάθε πιθανό αντικείμενο, ηλεκτρονικό κύκλωμα ή ηχητική ιδιοκατασκευή.
Στις 21.00 θα περάσουμε στο πρώτο μέρος προβολών. Όπου θα δούμε 6 ταινίες ειδικά επιλεγμένες για το απόκοσμο σκηνικό των λατομείων. Ταινίες που περνάνε στο κατώφλι του μαγικού ρεαλισμού. Τέτοιες είναι οι ταινίες 36 Dreams του Felicien Bonniot, ο οποίος με την κάμερά του εξερευνεί ένα σχεδόν αχαρτογράφητο δίκτυο από παρατημένες σήραγγες, όπως και το Oedipo της Ηρούς Τζιντρούδη, που συνδυάζει σπάνιο αρχειακό υλικό με πρωτότυπο υλικό. Στην ίδια ενότητα θα υπάρχουν mini αφιερώματα σε σκηνοθέτες που η δουλειά τους αποτελεί πηγή έμπνευσης. Αφενός θα δούμε δυο ταινίες του Tzuan Wu, το L' abjection και το Fur film vol.1 I don't own a cat (σε συνσκηνοθεσία με την Erica Sheu). Ο Tzuan Wu έχοντας γυρίσει δεκάδες ταινίες σε φιλμ, με το σκληρό μοντάζ, τον ταχύ ρυθμό, τις διπλοεκθέσεις, και μια δυναμική αισθητική σε εναλλαγές χρωμάτων και κοντράστ, συνθέτει έναν πολύ προσωπικό φιλμικό κόσμο. Όπως έναν πολύ προσωπικό φιλμικό κόσμο φτιάχνουν και οι ταινίες της Vera Hector, με εμπιστοσύνη στα μονοπλάνα, στις μπλε περιοχές του συναισθήματος, και πολλές φορές επίσης στις μπλε περιοχές της χρωματικής παλέτας. Από τη Vera Hector θα δούμε τις ταινίες Papillons και Beton de Anges.
Τέλος στο τελευταίο μέρος του προγράμματος, περίπου στις 22.10, θα δούμε τις μη εμπορικές ταινίες, τις προσωπικές δημιουργίες τριών δημιουργών που οι ταινίες τους συνήθως πρωταγωνιστούν στα "ευγνωσμένα φεστιβάλ". Πρόκειται για το Where the boys are του Bertrand Bonello, μια μοναδική ταινία πάνω στον ερωτικό πόθο στον καιρό της αθωότητας. Θα δούμε τοο Quand nous etions punk του Pascal Rambert, μια από τις πιο ερωτικές ταινίες που έχω παρακολουθήσει ποτέ. Δεν κρύβει λόγια, ούτε για την δίψα, ούτε για την απόσταση, ούτε για την διάλυση αυτής κατά τα καιρικά φαινόμενα της ερωτικής επιθυμίας και της ερωτικής πράξης. Ενώ τέλος, θα παρακολουθήσουμε το Je flotterai sans envie του Frank Beauvais, ένα μαγικό δοκίμιο, ή ποίημα, για την αγάπη δίχως ανταπόκριση. Οι καλύτερες δυνατές κόπιες θα προβληθούν με την συμβολή της Les films du Bélier, την οποία κι ευχαριστώ για τη συνεργασία.

Οι blip θορυβουν και αυτοσχεδιαζουν με ευρεθεντα αντικειμενα, ηλεκτρονικα κυκλώματα και ηχητικές ιδιοκατασκευές. Ειναι μέλη του Κεντρου Ερευνας και Διάσωσης Μουσικής Ραδιουργίας, οργανώνουν εργαστήρια ηχητικού πειραματισμού και μαζεύουν πάρα πολλά πράγματα που σίγουρα κάποια στιγμή θα χρησιμοποιηθούν όλα σε μια παράσταση που δεν ξανάγινε.

Προκειμένου να συνδεθεί το οροπέδιο με τις κοιλάδες από κάτω, έχουν σκαφτεί 15 σήραγγες στο βουνό κάτω από το Κέντρο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης του Lacoux στις αρχές του 20ου αιώνα. Αντιμέτωπο με πολλές τεχνικές δυσκολίες, το έργο τελικά εγκαταλείφθηκε. Αυτός ο λαβύρινθος σε ευθεία γραμμή, κρυμμένος στην καρδιά του βουνού, εξακολουθεί να υπάρχει μέχρι σήμερα. Το παλιό όνειρο συνεχίζει να παλεύει μέσα στο τοπίο. Οι αναζωπυρώσεις, οι άβυσσοι και οι βράχοι διάσπαρτοι σε όλη την επικράτεια σχηματίζουν με αυτά τα τούνελ μια άρρητη και μυστική τοπογραφία. Οι οπτικοί απόηχοι καθώς και η ηχητική σύνθεση των Les Marquises, παρόμοια με μια ονειρική ελεγεία, βυθίζουν τον θεατή στην καρδιά ενός υγρού τοπίου με αδιευκρίνιστη ύλη και συγκεχυμένες διαστάσεις.

«Η γάτα που δεν κατέχω τρέχει μέσα από παράθυρα ανάμεσα σε διαφορετικούς χώρους και χρόνους και εξαφανίζεται πριν τελειώσει μια πρόταση. Χρησιμοποιώντας outtakes και πεταμένο υλικό (τι σημαίνει "γούνινο φιλμ" στα Mandarin) για να αντλήσετε συναισθήματα από αυτές τις εικόνες που δημιουργήσαμε. Η ταινία είναι το πρώτο επεισόδιο ενός εν εξελίξει έργου ημερολογίου ανταλλαγής μεταξύ της Erica SHEU και του Tzuan WU. Από τις ασκήσεις γυρισμάτων και την επεξεργασία με το χέρι από την αρχή, συνεργαζόμαστε και πειραματιζόμαστε με διαφορετικές ροές εργασίας ήχου και εικόνας μεταξύ Ταϊβάν και ΗΠΑ.»

Στην άκρη του κόσμου, όπου η αγάπη και ο χρόνος είναι νεκροί, νόμιζα ότι είδα αγγέλους. Σε αυτές τις φιγούρες στις οποίες έδωσα την καρδιά μου, ήθελα να αφιερώσω ένα μουσικό δράμα. Ένα μοντέρνο μελόδραμα στο οποίο τα βιολιά αντικαθίστανται από μηχανές και στο οποίο ο λυρισμός στοιχειώνει επίμονα το γυμνό ντεκόρ. Το παν είναι να βρεις έναν ρυθμό παρά την ηχητική χυδαιότητα που ονομάζουν ζωή.

23/7 Films in Korydallos
This Sunday (23/7), Pugnant Film Series will be for a unique evening in the abandoned quarries of Schisto in Korydallos. The landscape, as usual in quarries, is very special. The evening will start at 20.00 with Blip doing an in situ sound action, extracting the sound from every possible object, electronic circuit or sonic self-construction.
At 21.00 the first part of the screenings will start. Where we will see 6 films specially selected for the eerie scenery of the quarries. These are films where the directors are moving into the dimension of magical realism. On 36 Dreams by Felicien Bonniot, Felicien with only his camera explores a network oof abanndoned tunnels. On Oedipo, Ero Tzintroudi combines rare footage with her original footage in order to touch the rooots of the myth. In the same section where there are mini tributes to directors whose work is a source of inspiration for me. On the one hand, we will see two films by Tzuan Wu, L'abjection and Fur film vol.1 I don't own a cat (co-directed with Erica Sheu). Tzuan Wu having shot dozens of films on film, with the hard editing, the fast pace, the double exposures, and a dynamic aesthetic in changing colors and contrasts, things that composes a very personal filmic world. Vera Hector's films also create a very personal filmic world, with trust in big one shots, settling in the blue areas of emotion and often in the blue areas of the color palette. By Vera Hector he will see the films Papillons and Beton de Anges.
Finally, in the last part of the program, around 22.10, we will see the non-commercial films, the personal creations of three filmmakers that usually we met them in the "acclaimed festivals". It is Bertrand Bonello's Where the boys are, a unique film about lust in the age of innocence. You will see Pascal Rambert's Quand nous etions punk, one of the most erotic films I have ever watched. He does not hide words, neither about thirst, nor about distance, nor about its dissolution during the weather phenomena of love desire and the love act. While finally, we will watch Je flotterai sans envie by Frank Beauvais, a magical essay, or poem, about unrequited love. The best possible copies will be shown with the contribution of Les films du Bélier, to whom I thank for the cooperation.

Blip are Yorgos Stenos and Yorgos Stavridis. Together they explore the
inherent sound potential of materials, objects and electronic circuits
through making, on-site action and improvisation. Τhey have collaborated
in various projects in the past, as members of the experimental group
Trigger Happy and KeDiMouRa collective. Recently, they both contributed
in the development of the experimental platform loskop.radio and they are conducting an annual 7-day sonic experimentation workshop in Ikaria (GR), the Orchestra of Noises.

In order to connect the plateau with the valleys below, 15 tunnels have
been dug into the mountain beneath the Contemporary Art Center of Lacoux
at the beginning of the 20th century. Confronted with numerous
technical difficulties, the project was eventually abandoned.
This labyrinth in a straight line, hidden in the heart of the mountain,
is still present to this day. The old dream keeps palpitating through
the landscape. The resurgences, abysses and cliffs scattered throughout
the territory form with these tunnels an implicit and secret topography.
36 Dreams melts the rubbles of the mountain with sleeping faces and
merges waterfalls into darkness. The visual echoes and the sound
composition of Les Marquises, similar to a dreamlike elegy, plunge the
viewer into the heart of a liquid landscape with undecidable matter and
confused dimensions.

The cat I don't own runs through windows between different spaces and times, and it disappears before finishing a sentence.
Using outtakes and rushes (what "fur film" means in Mandarin) to redeem the affects in these images we produced for. The film is the first volume of an ongoing exchange diary project between Erica SHEU and Tzuan WU. From the filming exercises and hand processing from the very beginning, we collaborate and experiment with different workflows of audio and visual between Taiwan and USA.

On the edge of the world, where love and time are dead, I thought I saw angels.
To these figures to which I gave my heart, I wanted to dedicate a
musical drama. A modern melodrama in which the violins are replaced by
machines and in which lyricism doggedly haunts the bare décor. It’s all
about finding a rhythm despite the sonorised vulgarity that they call
life.

Oedipo is life itself. He symbolizes the birth and the death, the new and the old, he is the cycle of life. The degenerated body meets the very state (πόλις). Ultimately, The Sphinx self-immolates. Oedipo drowns himself. The power of commune rises up. Communal and Individual journey through the deterioration of the society.
