Το Pugnant Film Series σας παρουσιάζει, σε πρώτη προβολή στην Αθήνα, την ταινία Caniba των Verena Paravel και Lucien Castaing-Taylor, δύο εκ των σημαντικότερων σκηνοθετών των ημερών μας στο ανθρωπολογικό ντοκιμαντέρ. Το Caniba είναι μια ταινία πολύ κοντινών (κυριολεκτικά) πορτραίτων του Issei Sagawa και του αδερφού του Jun, που τον έχει περιθάλψει μετά από ένα πρόσφατο ατύχημα. Οι Verena Paravel και ο Lucien Castaing Taylor, αφήνουν τον Issei Sagawa να αυτοδιηγηθεί μέσα από λόγια κι αναπνοές. Ο Issei ζει ελεύθερος, έχοντας εκτίσει την ποινή για την ανθρωποφαγία της συμφοιτήτριας του Renee Hartevelt το 1981. Μάλιστα έχει γίνει διάσημος από αυτό το έγκλημα δίνοντας δεκάδες συνεντεύξεις, έχοντας παίξει σε βίντεο αναπαράστασης καθώς και σε ταινίες πορνό. Έχει συγγράψει σχετικά βιβλία και μάνγκα, ενώ έχει υπάρξει και κριτικός κουζίνας.
Την ίδια μέρα θα προβάλουμε σε πρώτη δημόσια προβολή το My Mother της Εύης Χρόνη. Μια ταινία με πολλά αυτοβιογραφικά στοιχεία, από εκείνες του ανεξάρτητου ελληνικού κινηματογράφου που σπάνια φτάνουν στα μάτια μας. Η προβολή θα γίνει παρουσία της σκηνοθέτιδας.

Οι ταινίες θα προβληθούν με ελληνικούς και αγγλικούς υπότιτλους.

Pugnant Film Series presents, for first time in Athens, the film Caniba by Verena Paravel and Lucien Castaing-Taylor, two of the most important directors of our days in anthropological documentary. Caniba is a film of very close (literally) portraits of Issei Sagawa and his brother Jun, who has been treating him after a recent accident. Verena Paravel and Lucien Castaing Taylor, let Issei Sagawa narrate himself through words and breaths. Issei lives, having served his sentence for the cannibalism of his classmate Renee Hartevelt in 1981. In fact, he has become famous for this crime by giving dozens of interviews, having acted in reenactment videos as well as in porn films. He has written related books and manga, and has also been a kitchen critic.
On the same day, we will have the first public screening of film My Mother by Evi Chroni. A film with many autobiographical elements, a film from those of independent Greek cinema that rarely reach our eyes. The screening will take place in the presence of the director. 

 

 

The films will be shown with Greek and English subtitles.
